Few talk about how difficult it is to transition into the senior phase of life. For many it is a time of mental and physical challenges due to their health and the many transitions a person goes through during this period. These transitions include dealing with grown up children, their spouses and families as well as retirement and new limitations. A person who was once healthy and independent may now require assistance with tasks they were once able to do on their own.
This decline in health can negatively impact the senior as they cope with the loss of independence and which leads to a decrease in their morale. Morale is defined as the general mood of a person toward something. With physical and mental health affecting their independence, seniors may have low morale, especially as they face illness. We all can play a part in boosting morale: the seniors themselves, their families and also community members
